Dr. Fleeter has been practicing orthopaedics in Reston since 1984. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, he earned his medical degree from Howard University School of Medicine at Washington, D.C. Following his graduation, he continued advanced training in his chosen specialty, orthopaedic surgery, at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. as part of his residency there.
As an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Fleeter's practice is focused on arthroscopic surgery, running injuries, reconstructive procedures for arthritis, and sports medicine. He is the team physician for South Lakes High School and served as the medical director of the Women’s World Figure Skating Championship and the Reston Triathlon. He is also an orthopaedic consultant to the United States Figure Skating Association. Dr. Fleeter takes great pleasure in working with young athletes and helping them pull through their sports-related injuries. He has been named Outstanding Physician by Washingtonian Magazine since 1995, and a Prominent Physician by Washington Checkbook Magazine since 1998.
Dr. Fleeter believes strongly in giving back to our community and as such he initiated a scholarship from the Reston Hospital Medical staff that has given in excess of $150,000 to local high school students. He has have served as president of the Reston Hospital medical staff and currently serves as chairman of the board of trustees at Reston Hospital.
In addition to his extensive medical commitments, Dr. Fleeter enjoys golf, bicycling, skiing, scuba diving, and spending time with his family.
