Frequently Asked Questions

Clinical

Q: Where and what do I do with my MRI prescription?
A: The medical assistant/physician will ask you where you would like to have your MRI performed. You will be contacted by our authorization department with your authorization number at which time you may schedule your MRI appointment and take the script as well as the authorization number with you to the MRI facility.

Q: Once the authorization is complete, can I go anywhere?
A: No, your authorization is given for a particular facility. It is important that you let the medical assistant/physician know if you have a preference for a particular MRI facility.

Q: How long until I can make an appointment after my MRI is complete?
A: You may schedule an appointment 2-5 days after your MRI. The facility will give you a disk and it is important that you bring this disk with you to your appointment with the physician.

Q: How long to follow up after surgery?
A: You should follow your surgeon's directions. If the first post-op appointment is not scheduled by the surgery scheduler your physician will give you instructions for follow up at the time of your surgery.

Q:What is your medical records policy on turn around time?
A: The usual turn around time is 7-10 days to copy and send out your medical records. We try to accommodate patients for emergent situations.

Q: What do I need to do to sign out my x-rays?
A: Call the Reston or Centreville office - where your x-rays were taken and ask for the x-ray department. You can leave a message requesting your x-rays and we appreciate a 24 hour turn around. We will return your call and let you know when your x-rays are ready for pick up and at which office you can retrieve them. You will sign a release when you come into the office.

Q: How do I go about getting a medication refill?
A: Please have your pharmacy fax a refill request to us. We do not fill prescriptions on the weekends.
